Merry Christmas from Iceland! Being in Iceland means winter solstice, cold nights, 13 Santas, northern lights, new experiences, and the celebration of the one who came to earth to give us life. We are blessed to be apart of what God is doing in the world.

‎"What do I do if my credit card expires while supporting you?" I have been asked this question several times this month so I thought this might help. If you need to change your account information because you lost your card and got a new number --that has that not happened to me 4 times in my life. LOL Or if your card expired or you want to increase your giving amount. You do the same thing every time -- You can call 1-877-840-4800 and speak to contributor services and share the new information. Its that easy. Hope this helps. Did I mention that it snowed yesterday in Iceland? Luke was thrilled! Thanks for all you do!

MARCH MADNESS

Our family has always had a fun time with the March Madness over the years.  But, this March put a new meaning to the words MARCH MADNESS!  We received our final departure approval at the end of February, which meant, “Let the packing begin”.  After living in the same house for 10 years we had a TON of stuff to go through and organize (which you can just imagine!).  At the beginning of the month we also found out that other airlines wouldn't transfer luggage with Icelandair so we had to quickly make plans to get our belongings to Iceland by some other means. That meant we had a 5ftX5ftX5ft crate built.  While discussing this with my neighbor he informed me that he packs more than that when he goes on a camping trip… and come to think of it so do we!  LOL

After using every space in that crate that was available, we shipped it off to Iceland on March 16th.  Because of the craziness right now, the itinerary for the crate is as follows: Fort Worth to Houston, Houston to New York, NY to Europe, and Europe to Iceland.  WOW! What a journey just to go to the northern most Capital of the world. After we got the crate shipped off the madness continued with us packing, selling, giving, and donating the rest of the stuff in our house. And after all of that, we finally moved out of our house on the 31st of March.  Need less to say we didn't have time to watch the actual NCAA March Madness but we are glad to be apart of the Missions Madness and begin the next chapter in our lives by living in Iceland.  In 3 days we will be in Iceland. Please pray for us during this transitional time in our lives.

Once again, we THANK YOU for your continued faithfulness,
Andy & Kimberly

Iceland Here We Come

After many amazing miracles we are set to move APRIL 23RD! Thank you to the best support team in the World! Please continue to pray as we prepare over the next few weeks. We still need to rent our house, sell Andy's truck, pack, and find a shipping company just to name a few prayer request.  Also, please pray for our little man as we know change is never easy.   We can't wait to see what together God is going to do!

Happy New Year

                  The Bohon’s January Update 2012
In December, we were able to finalize the required documents and submit our paperwork to apply for our residential VISA with the Icelandic government. We are currently waiting to hear back from the Icelandic Immigration office.
We are so excited to let everyone know that we are currently at 90% of our budget.  That is amazing news, and we are blessed with the best support team anyone could ask for.  We believe that by the time the final approval comes, our budget will be raised and we can then ask for financial clearance from our missions’ board and set a departure date.  There is still so much to think about and we are asking for your prayers concerning the following matters:
1.     Please pray that the GOVERNMENT will approve our VISA to live in Iceland.
2.     We need to RENT our house and are praying for quality renters in His timing.
3.     The CAR that we were going to use in Iceland isn’t an option so we need a car. (It would be very cold to walk for these Texans but it might be a good diet plan-LOL.)
4.     SHIPPING our belongings – We need wisdom on what to take and how to get it there for the best price.
5.     LUKE  – Please pray for peace in his spirit with so many changes.
6.     And, of course the last 10% of our BUDGET.
We don’t take it lightly when we get the text messages, FB comments, and emails telling us you are praying for us.  It always uplifts our spirits and hearts.  Many times we still feel like Moses and wonder why God called and would choose us, but we know that He didn’t just choose us, He chose our team too.  Thank you for supporting us.  We know everyone one of you had to listen to the voice of God in order for us to be sent.
May God richly bless YOU and our entire team in 2012!
Lots of Love,

 Andy, Kimberly & Luke Bohon

Hungry in Iceland

People often ask us what is the food like in Iceland.  I can tell you that Icelandic food is amazing. Baked foods, fresh fish, amazing chocolate, great cheese.  But you often have surprises too.  One of the first months I was in Iceland as a young teenager I went to camp.  It was dinner time and I was getting hungry.  I smelled something in the kitchen that smelled so good. I went into the kitchen and while no one was looking I opened the pot and out came an entire lambs head eyeballs and all. I screamed because I had never seen that before and needless to say I didn't feel hungry that evening for dinner.  LOL!  Food culture in every country is so different.  But, even with the surprises we can't wait to get to Iceland and eat Pönnukökur and stand in a long line for a famous Lamb Hotdog with fried onions.

PLEASE SLOW DOWN CLEANING TOILETS --

I often wonder what I would do if I had the ability to speed up or slow down time.  I would never say please slow down the time it takes to clean toilets (but I might speed it up!). I would consider slowing down how fast Luke is growing up, but don't really want to go back to him waking up every couple of hours either.  We recently went to the movie theater and saw a movie that had a character named "The Time Keeper".  He would speed up time and people's lives were passing by faster and faster.  It was a kids movie but it made me really think about how we are using our time.  Lately I have been taking the approach of "Look out the window" because you never know if you will have the opportunity to pass that way again. Our prayer has been, "Lord if you can use me today, please us me."  Our church had a commissioning service for us at the end of July and they presented us with a beautiful clock that reads, "May you bring salvation to the ends of the Earth." Romans 13:47 -- The clock is a consistent reminder that time is short and the real "Time Keeper" is coming back to get his church.  Please continue to pray that we can finish raising our budget in a short amount of time so we can continue what Christ has called us to do with the time that we have been given.
